Dropshipping pricing: the breakdown

Following your message of 11 June with the updated pricelists, we have worked out two of our best-selling 5W-30 grades step by step, using your own figures, so the calculation is fully transparent. Every number below is sourced. The aim is simple: to understand where the net dropshipping price comes from, and why it does not line up.

What this tells us

  1. As distributor, we buy in above a price offered to an end customer in our own market. Van Brandwijk is not a reseller comparable to De Oliereus, but an end customer we are expected to serve. Normally a distributor sits below the end customer; here it is the other way around. That is the part we need to reconcile with the statement (your mail, 11 June) that the shop prices are simply the base prices for everyone.
  2. The gap starts at the base price, before any surcharge. Our base price is already €2.81 higher (LSX) and €0.91 higher (7511) than Van Brandwijk's base on the exact same product, source: both SCT Germany pricelists of 11 June. We can follow the arithmetic of the 7% surcharge; the issue sits one step earlier.
  3. The net result. After the full 20% and the 7%, our dropshipping price lands 15.3% (7511) to 23.5% (LSX) above the end-customer level shown above. In its current form, the dropshipping case does not add up for us, which is exactly why a net list in line with your B2B system would let us move forward.
  4. One open point on the surcharge. In our call of 5 June the dropshipping surcharge was named as 5%; your pricelist mail of 11 June states +7%. The breakdown above uses 7%; please confirm which figure is final.

"now usually we have from our general pricing from Germany for our warehouse orders we have five percent handling surcharge for the drop shipping orders, this is the difference"

Christoph Höppner (SCT Germany), call of 5 June 2026
What would settle this: one clean net dropshipping pricelist for Mannol and Fanfaro, with the 20% (BL) and the final surcharge already applied, at a level in line with your B2B system, plus 2-3 example lines worked out (base price, 20% BL, surcharge, final net price), and confirmation of the final surcharge: 5% or 7%. With that we can finalise on our side within days.
